David Luc has called Fairhope home for over 21years, but his roots in the Eastern Shore run deeper.

Raised in Mobile and a graduate of Murphy High School, David’s first meaningful connections to Fairhope came in the early ‘90s while attending college at Faulkner State Community College. “I used to drive over three times a week for class,” David recalls. “My dad even told me we should buy a place here. I told him, ‘No one lives in Fairhope!’”  That sentiment didn’t last...

More than a decade later, during a date with his soon-to-be wife, Jennifer, David found himself back in Fairhope, this time with fresh eyes. “We drove through downtown, down to the pier, and just felt like this was the place to raise our family,” he says. “That night we bought a newspaper, found a house for rent, and made the decision to start our life here.”

Today, David and Jennifer are raising two daughters in Fairhope: Andersen, a recent graduate of Bayshore Christian School, and Emery, who is entering her junior year at the same school.

Faith and service have always played a central role in David’s life. A longtime member of First Baptist Church Fairhope, he has served as both a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He’s also a second-generation Eagle Scout, carrying on a tradition of leadership and community service that he now instills in his own family.

Earlier in life, David spent 12 years serving as a paramedic, including during the years when Rural Metro was Fairhope’s EMS provider. “I know what it’s like to show up for someone on their worst day,” he says. “Serving our communities as a paramedic gave me a deep respect for public safety and for the people who keep us safe.”  That experience continues to shape how David views leadership: Be present, act decisively, and serve with humility.

After leaving EMS, David turned his focus to business building and running a successful company that helps professionals navigate complex systems. His business background taught him a different but equally valuable set of lessons.

“Running a business teaches you how to balance a budget, plan for the future, and stay accountable to the people who count on you,” David says. “It’s not theory.  It’s real life. You can’t kick the can down the road when people are counting on you.”

That same mindset of thoughtfulness, discipline, and people-focused is exactly what David hopes to bring to the Fairhope City Council. He believes in practical solutions, clear priorities, and leadership that reflects the values of the people represented.

Why He’s Running

David Luc is running for Fairhope City Council with a mission to preserve, protect, and shape the future of Fairhope.

After more than two decades of living, working, serving, and raising a family in Fairhope, David has developed a deep appreciation for what makes this community so special.  Fairhope is more than just a place to live.  It’s a shared investment between generations.

David believes Fairhope is at a crossroads. Growth is inevitable, but how we grow will define who we become. He supports smart, intentional development that preserves Fairhope’s charm while ensuring infrastructure, traffic flow, and public services keep pace. One of his top priorities is enhancing public safety.

He’s also committed to transparency, fiscal responsibility, and making sure that Fairhope remains a place where families can thrive and small businesses can succeed.

David’s campaign is grounded in a belief that Fairhope doesn’t need to choose between preserving its past and preparing for its future, it can do both.

With thoughtful leadership, citizen input, and common-sense solutions, David is ready to help guide Fairhope forward.
